We breed select litters of field Labrador and Golden Retrievers. Our
goal is to produce pups that are house pets and companions, while also excelling
in the field. Our breedings are carefully planned to achieve this goal. We
select males who have temperaments and pedigrees that complement our girls. Scroll
down for information on our upcoming litters.
All parents have OFA or PennHIP and CERF clearances. We also test our girls for CNM
(CentroNuclear Myopathy), a muscular disease
affecting Labrador Retrievers. Pups are
introduced to retrieving and birds and (if weather permits) to water while in
the litter. They are also socialized to children and adults. Dewclaws are removed and
the pups are de-wormed and given
their first shots before they go home. Puppies are permanently
identified with a micro chip before they leave for their new homes. We
guarantee our puppies against hereditary hip, elbow and eye defects.
Our dogs are
competitive field dogs. This means that they are in excellent physical shape and
are required to work hard. It also means that they have the mentality to "turn
off" and relax when they are in the house. Our girls love to curl up next to
you and get their bellies rubbed, but charge out the door to retrieve when given
the chance. We do puppy personality tests as well as daily observation to match
puppies with families. Hunting and competitive homes are given preference.
